from norway to canada

of course, it's a more or less direct route from Norway to Canada (and in a double sense of the word), but what is referred to here is the musical connection the two countries share. Assuming both are special, in a lonesome and natural way, artists, like musicians, might feel a certain connection.
Kings of Convenience and Leslie Feist have found their connection in making music some years ago, and as I rediscovered Kings of Convenience some days ago (--> Dancing School), it was only a two-day trip in my mind from Norway to Canada. While recalling the beautiful songs from K.o.C. I thus wondered about the third voice in the song I liked with the most, when having fallen for their music some two or three years ago. This song is of course The build up, and both the music and the video are amazing.

What I feel when I hear and see Leslie Feist is somewhat paradoxical - she appears to me as an adorable while strong woman, while her voice and her guitar-music remind me of something not less amazing, but yet fragile and careful to handle, intending not to destroy it's beauty - which (here we are again) remindes me of the nature I associate with her and K.o.C - open, wild and gentle.
